Details / Technical information Rumber® lumber is unique in that it is the only patented alternative lumber product that combines HDPE with tire rubber. This combination has many advantages over our competitors: · Both SBR and HDPE are impervious to moisture. Some alternatives are made with blowing agents to reduce the weight of the product. However, this process also creates air gaps in the material that moisture can penetrate. Rumber® is not made with bonding agents and does not have air gaps · The combination of SBR and HDPE creates a material that is very stable and not subject to expansion and contraction. · Rumber® can be expected to move less than 1/2" in twenty foot length. · Rumber® has a natural non-slip surface, and it can be buffed to provide a super non-slip surface · Rumber® comes with a limited warranty. · Rumber® is maintenance free ! There is no need for paints or stains. It will maintain its pleasant natural gray or black color long into the future. · Rumber® is available in regular boards or tongue & groove boards
Rubber Lumber
Rumber's® original application in Texas and Oklahoma. A harsh climate that ranges from zero to well exceeding a hundred degrees. Rumber® has increased the life of the decking from 4-6 months to 4-5 years ! This same incredible material is also esthetically pleasing enough to be used as exterior decking and interior flooring in a class 'A' family restaurant in a southern California beach community. Rumber's® natural extrusion (un-buffed) provides a better gripping surface than any other 'plastic-boards' and better than lumber in the direction of the grain. Rumber® 'buffed' surface provides a 'super' non-skid surface that is hard to beat ! I believe all this is quite an accomplishment, especially for a product that is not only made from waste stream materials, but also contains The dreaded and feared worn-out tire ! No less than 45·% of Rumber® is make-up is post consumer tire !
