What the Markings Mean

American Public Works Association Utility Location & Coordination Council Uniform Color Code:

 red Red: Electric Power Lines, Cables, Conduit and Lighting Cables

 yellow Yellow: Gas, Oil, Steam, Petroleum or Gaseous Materials

 orange Orange: Communication, Alarm or Signal Lines, Cables or Conduit

 blue  Blue: Water, Irrigation and Slurry Lines

 green Green: Sewers and Drain Lines

 pink Pink: Temporary Survey Markings

 white White: Proposed Excavation

 purple  Purple: Reclaimed Water
